20oz Glass Candle Containers (630ml)
A 20oz glass candle container is the 630ml large-format vessel used for statement candles, three-wick candles and hotel or event programmes. It holds roughly 450–500 g of wax, measures 100 mm across the top and 125 mm high in our standard mould, and carries over 500 g of glass. At this size the candle becomes a piece of décor — a coffee-table object rather than a shelf item — and buyers are usually specifying it for a flagship product.
Why choose 20oz candle containers?
- Maximum shelf presence. A tall 125 mm sidewall gives far more room for artwork, embossing and premium finishing than a mid-sized jar, so the container does part of the branding work.
- Ideal for three-wick candles. A 100 mm opening comfortably supports three wicks, producing a wide, even melt pool and a strong scent throw for large rooms.
- Suits hospitality and events. Longer burn times make large containers practical for hotel lobbies, spas and long-running venue programmes where replacement frequency matters.
- Strong gift anchor product. A 20oz candle is a natural hero item in a gift set, and the format supports premium rigid packaging without the freight penalty of a truly oversized vessel.
20oz glass candle container specifications and sizing guide
| Model | Capacity | Top Ø | Bottom Ø | Height | Glass weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DSC100125 | 630 ml | 100 mm | 92 mm | 125 mm | 505 g |
| DSC10126R | 620 ml | 100 mm | 92 mm | 125 mm | 620 g |
| DSS1010 (square) | 640 ml | 100 mm (square) | — | 100 mm | on request |
DSC100125 is our standard 20oz mould and the model behind our 630 ml clear candle container: Ø100 × H125 mm with 505 g of glass. DSC10126R shares the footprint but runs to 620 g of glass, giving a noticeably thicker wall — useful when the brief calls for a heavy, premium feel. DSS1010 delivers the same 640 ml fill in a square profile, which stacks efficiently in boxes and reads as a modern, architectural shape.
Wax fill, wick and burn-time notes
- Wax fill: approximately 450–500 g, leaving 15–20 mm of headspace. On a 100 mm opening, uneven pour or cooling is visible, so pour temperature control matters more than on smaller sizes.
- Wick configuration: three wicks is the standard build at this diameter, with two wicks workable on a lower fragrance load. Confirm on a filled sample — wick count drives both burn symmetry and scent throw.
- Burn time: roughly 80–100 hours with a matched three-wick set. This is a planning estimate; actual performance depends on wax blend, fragrance load, wick type and burn conditions.
Available colours and surface finishes
20oz containers are supplied in clear glass, sprayed and internally coloured glass, frosted and matte finishes, and metallic, pearl or electroplated effects. Decoration options include silk screen printing, hot stamping, UV printing, embossing on the mould, wrap labels and custom packaging.
Large jars are also the best candidates for embossed or debossed mould branding, because the taller sidewall has room for a logo without interfering with the label area. See the glass decoration methods comparison for cost and MOQ across finishes.
Lids, caps and components for 20oz containers
- Wooden lids in bamboo and stained timber, with EPE or silicone sealing pads
- Metal lids in matte, gloss, brushed and electroplated finishes
- Glass lids with ground joints for a heavyweight luxury closure
- Silicone and EVA sealing discs, foam protection and rigid or printed gift boxes sized for Ø100 × H125 mm
A lid that matches the 100 mm opening is essential at this size — an ill-fitting closure is far more visible on a large jar, and it also affects how the candle cures and travels.
Packaging and export protection
Large glass containers need more than a standard carton. For bulk export we specify cartons with individual cell dividers or paper interleaves, reinforced corners, and palletisation planned around the 505–620 g unit weight. If your order is going into retail packaging rather than bulk, we can also quote a printed box with a die-cut insert so the jar travels inside its own presentation case.
See shipping glass bottles from China for how container loading, carton design and freight terms are handled on orders like this.

Frequently asked questions
What is the burn time of a 20oz candle container?
Expect roughly 80–100 hours from a 630 ml container with 450–500 g of wax and a correctly matched three-wick set. Burn time moves with wax type, fragrance load and wick configuration, so confirm it on a filled sample rather than relying on a general figure.
Are 20oz candle jars suitable for 3-wick candles?
Yes — a 100 mm opening is a natural three-wick size and most buyers specify three wicks at this diameter. Three wicks give a wide, even melt pool and stronger scent throw, but they require validation on your own wax and fragrance combination.
Can 20oz containers be made with a custom shape?
Yes. We offer square, cylindrical and custom profiles, and a new bespoke mould is typically 45–50 days with a 10,000–50,000 pcs minimum order. If a simpler change suits your project, custom colour, finish and embossed branding can be applied to an existing mould at the standard 3,000 pcs MOQ.
What packaging protects large candle containers in export?
We specify cartons with cell dividers or paper interleaves, reinforced corners and pallet plans based on unit weight, because a 505–620 g glass jar needs more protection than a small vessel. For retail packing we quote printed boxes with die-cut inserts so each jar travels protected inside its own presentation case.
