DSC90100 (440 ml, Ø90 × H102 mm) is our standard 12oz mould and the model behind our in-stock clear 12oz jar. DSC85116R is the taller, heavier alternative at 116 mm high and 460 g of glass — choose it when the brief calls for a tall, weighty vessel. DSC88100 offers a slightly narrower 88 mm profile with the largest fill in this class at 460 ml.

Dimensional tolerances are typically ±1 mm on diameter and height and ±5% on glass weight. Tolerances on the opening matter if you are matching a third-party lid, so ask us for the drawing before you commit to a closure programme.

Wax fill, wick and burn-time notes

Wax fill: roughly 300–340 g, allowing 12–18 mm of headspace. The larger the surface area, the more important headspace control becomes for an even cure.
Single or double wick: a 90 mm diameter can run on a single large wick, but two wicks give better melt-pool symmetry and a stronger scent throw in a jar this size. Test both before choosing — wax type and fragrance load decide the outcome.
Burn time: approximately 55–70 hours with a correctly matched wick or wick pair. Treat this as a planning estimate, not a guarantee, and confirm it on a filled sample.

Our standard 12oz mould, DSC90100, has a 90 mm top diameter and an 85 mm base. Alternative moulds in this class run from 85 mm to 88 mm across the top, so confirm the exact opening if you are matching an existing lid.

Are 12oz candle jars suitable for 2-wick candles?

Yes — at 90 mm across, a 12oz jar is a practical two-wick size and many brands run it that way for a more even melt pool. Two wicks also lift scent throw, but they change burn behaviour, so test both configurations on a filled sample.

Can 12oz jars be decorated with frosting or matte coating?
